EATING AT LEAST EIGHT STRAWBERRIES A DAY KEEP YOU FULL WHILE PROTECTING YOUR HEART AND BRAIN

     Strawberries are at their peak during the months of MAY and JUNE. They are juicy, sweet with a bit of tang.

     Did you know they are part of the rose family and are native to temperate regions of the northern hemisphere.

     One serving of strawberries is roughly eight medium-sized berries. Adding them to pies, cookies, cakes, oatmeal, smoothies and ice cream offers immune-boosting properties to desserts and savory dishes.

     Full of vitamin c, fiber and anti inflammatory-taming antioxidants, enjoy them during the day as a snack to help keep you fuller longer while protecting your heart and brain.

     One tip: when you bring them home, do not rinse them with water. I found that water adds to mold and fungus growing, I place mine in the freezer right in the supermarket package they came in. Their freshness and juiciness aren’t lost in this process. I simply microwave them briefly before adding them to my food or dish of choice.
