Wearable affirmations or The Judi L Jones collection was born out of a need to say thank you and offer my sympathies and heart to others. Sometimes, after I wrote my feelings on paper, I still wanted to make them known; designing t-shirts was my way to do it.
The majority of the t shirt ideas are from God. He’d give me the saying, the statement, the affirmation and I would put it on a t-shirt. I believe that if you wear a thought, an affirmation, a belief, you become it.
A young girl, desperately wanting to fit in with an high school crowd only to be ridiculed and bullied, can wear ‘YOU CAN’T WEAR A CROWN WITH YOUR HEAD DOWN, and feel liberated. Initially, she may not feel like a queen, but the more she wears the shirt and others admire it. she begins to BELIEVE it.
The statement “TAKE GOD WITH YOU,” is one we’ve heard plenty growing up in churches or from strangers. But wearing it and walking in it, helps us do just that, take HIM with us. This also encourages others who read the shirt, to do the same.
I have beta-tested, if you will, how the t shirts would fare with some of my friend girls and guys. Much to my surprise and appreciation, they were well received. I had two of my friend girls tell me when they wore the shirts entitled “DON’T FEAR IT FACE IT” AND “I AM BEAUTIFUL DESPITE MY CONDITIONS”, they got compliments. This further illustrates to me that what God and I are doing, is correct!
